JOB DESCRIPTION
o Lead and mentor a team of technical professionals, providing guidance and support in their daily tasks and career development.
o Facilitates regular performance development conversations and drives agreed actions to support team members' growth as well as their contribution to the team and company culture.
o Fosters a collaborative and innovative work environment that encourages teamwork and knowledge sharing.
o Develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders to ensure operational efficiency.
o Guides, reviews, and approves technical solution designs, emphasizing a commitment to fostering a reusable API environment and embracing a cloud-first architecture when suitable.
o Provides technical leadership ensuring team is aligned and delivers to the software engineering strategy, patterns and standards that respect compliance, security, operational best practice, and best possible user experience.
o Drives developer training plans and on-boarding to ensure relevant and up to date digital development skills are available.
o Collaborates with the leadership team to set development technologies, architectures, coding standards and processes that enable a speed with quality agile delivery culture.
o Manage issues with appropriate urgency which includes resolution and communication with stakeholders in conjunction with the support procedures.
o Leads by example and is able to get into the technical details of the development landscape when needed.
o Understand the IT and Business strategy and translate into a one-year systems operating plan.

Minimum requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Qualifications – NQF8 level in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent with experience in software development.
- 5 -10 years software development experience (C#, .Net, .NET Core, Python,Java)
- 2 years as a Solution Architect.
- Minimum 2 years people management
- Cloud Computing -Saas (AWS or Azure) exposure
- 3 to 5 years working in a lead or management role.
