Job description
- Co-ordinate the cleaning of the kitchen and ensuring all areas are covered with the correct cleaning equipment
- Assist with the “Early Morning Breakfast” preparations
- Manage stock in the refrigerators
- Ensure adherence to Cold Chain disciplines in the Catering department
- Conduct & record routine temperature checks and monitor all relevant areas for temperature discrepancies
- Issue all wet and dry ingredients to be used for daily meal preparation
- Report stock shortages (including consumables) to the Cooks Team Leader
- Inform the Cooks Team Leader of any menu changes
- Conduct ad-hoc audits in the Catering department
- Ensure that the department is equipped for the Bi-Annual audit
- Complete the Kitchen Checklist on a daily basis
- Maintain good communication with External suppliers within the Maintenance and Pest control industry
- Report / escalate urgent issues
- Maintaining files and documents as needed, for auditing purposes
- Temperature monitoring of food
- To maintain and improve standards where needed
Minimum requirements
Qualifications and Technical knowledge and skills
- Matric
- >1 Year experience in a similar role
- Hospitality industry/ Corporate Kitchen/Canteen environment, experience is essential
- Audit processes skill set is required
- Cold chain disciplines skill set is required
- Proficient in English including report writing skills
- Computer literacy
- Team player
