Introduction
To deliver actionable commercial and market insights that optimise Foods trade performance and support strategic decision-making. This includes analysing market share, competitor and promotional activity, and developing trade models that inform divisional and category opportunities. The role ensures reporting accuracy, data integrity, and stakeholder alignment across the Foods business.
Job description

  • ​Monitor micro & macro-economic market trends locally & globally impacting retail.
  • Deliver Monday Foods reporting, ensuring accurate reports and insights derived.
  • Deliver monthly commercial and PIR reporting.
  • Optimising and efficiency of business and reporting process.
  • Conduct detailed market share and commercial analysis to identify opportunities, risks, and competitive shifts across Foods/ Campaigns/ Categories.
  • Maintain supplier coding and ensure data integrity across Commercial reports.
  • Support integration of Foods business requirements onto Forecourt and On-demand platforms and enable functional teams to extract insights
  • Proactively track and evaluate market and competitor trade activity to support tactical and operational decisions.
  • Develop and maintain Trade modelling per phase, with guidance from Lead, to identify category and regional opportunities.
  • Implementing and maintaining PIR methodologies provided across commercial analysis – to deliver actionable insights by collaborating with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Leverage external and internal data sources to develop actionable insights for category and divisional teams.
  • Collaborate with Forecourt team and third party partners to identify Trade challenges and opportunities.
  • Maintain stakeholder relationships within operational forums to support business delivery.

Minimum requirements

  • ​Relevant commercial diploma/degree or equivalent (BSc, BBusSci, BComm, BEcon)
  • A background in Retail analytics, Actuarial Science, Finance or Mathematics is preferable
  • Minimum of 5 years working experience in FMCG, 3 years’ experience in analytics
  • Proven experience analysing commercial levers to develop recommendations to sustainably grow a Foods/FMCG category (i.e. market share, sales growth, margin, ROS, COGS, availability)
  • Advanced MS suite proficiency – Microsoft, Excel (VLOOKUP, Index Match, Advanced conditional formatting, Pivot tables and reporting, Macros and VBA, Data Simulations) and Powerpoint.
  • Qlik and Tableau experience essential.
  • Self-starter that is driven to deliver, can work independently and inter-dependently
  • Strong inter-personal skills and can interact at senior level
