Job description

Contribute to Product Concept / Product Range workshops / conversations and drive alignment between product aesthetics and technical requirements from idea to product developed. ​

  • Actively participate as member of the “Quad” during seasonal plan workshops to define the Formula​.
  • Actively participate as member of the “Quad” during Range Build and In-Season Trade / Trend Update workshops to define Woolworths design requirements​.
  • Deliver product innovation outcomes to achieve innovation and sustainability targets​.

Request and manage completion of, and updates to Tech Packs in line with Critical Path dates. 

  • Set the drumbeat for the “Quad” and facilitate cross-functional coordination to deliver to Critical Path timelines​.
  • Request Tech Pack inputs from Planning, Buying, Design and Fabric Teams
  • Ensure that Tech Packs are aligned with the required quality standards. 
  • Ensure on-time handover of Tech Packs to Sourcing and participate in Tech Pack briefings where required​. 

Coordinate the receipt, and handover of physical samples to Buying, and ensure that aesthetic and technical assessments are completed in time​.

  • Receive all physical samples from Sourcing & Production Assistant and handover to Buying for aesthetic assessment​.
  • Create and issue requests for samples for Development (resubmissions only), Pre-Production and Production Samples
  • Conduct technical assessment of samples to ensure product technical requirements are met
  • Manage the end-to-end process of sample request, receive, handover and approval in collaboration with Sourcing & Production Assistants

Deliver Product Quality

  • Collect and assess product quality and compliance data and information (including Suppliers’ alignment to WW standards, QIMAOne Metrics regarding Supplier quality and performance, and customer and store feedback)
  • Respond to, and resolve customer queries, and ensure that solutions are integrated into internal process.  

Drive PLM Utilisation and Compliance

  • Ensure PLM is continuously kept up to date with accurate and relevant information at appropriate levels of completion​.

Minimum requirements

·       Relevant business degree and/or diploma in Textile Technology and or Textile production and/or diploma in fashion / clothing product management

·       5 years or more technical experience in retail and/or manufacturing is essential.

·       Understanding of the International and South African fabric/garment/fit/category industry

·       Ability to travel both locally and internationally.
