Drive the fabric process as part of product development to ensure that the final product meets the required quality standards relating to fabric, fit and finish. Ensure that the fabric process is executed within the business critical-path timelines and aligned to the business strategy.
Job description

Manage the Fabric Process
• Implement the seasonal fabric strategy across groups and departments.
• Source seasonal fabrics, engage suppliers, and partner with mills on fabric development.
• Assess fabric submissions, test reports and standards for full technical conformance.
• Provide technical fabric guidance to product teams and ensure overall product integrity.

Support Product Concept and Range Development
• Contribute to Seasonal Plan, Range Build and Trend Update sessions as part of the “Quad”.
• Align product aesthetics with technical fabric requirements.
• Gather store and customer feedback to inform quality and durability improvements.
• Conduct post-season reviews and support innovation and sustainability targets.

Deliver Accurate Tech Packs and Ensure Critical Path Compliance
• Complete Tech Packs, BOMs, Size Charts, Washcare and Test Requisitions on time.
• Ensure all specifications align with quality standards and handovers occur as per deadlines.
• Coordinate Lab Dips, Strike-Offs and bulk samples, ensuring timely technical assessments.

Drive Product Quality
• Monitor product quality, identify deviations, and collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to resolve issues.
• Contribute to supplier quality and performance reviews.

Maintain PLM Accuracy
• Ensure PLM is consistently updated with accurate, relevant and complete information.

Minimum requirements

  •        Relevant business qualifications in Textile Technology or Textile Production or Fashion/Cothing product management.
  •        5 years or more’ technical experience in retail or manufacturing is essential.
  •        Understanding of the International and South African fabric/garment/fit/category industry.
  •        Ability to travel both locally and internationally.
  •        In-depth knowledge of textile manufacturing processes and technical product development.
  •        Expertise in Tech Pack creation and management.
  •        Strong time management and organisational skills.
  •        Ability to monitor and ensure product and fabric quality standards
  •        Advanced PLM system proficiency.
  •        Understanding of innovation and sustainability in product development
  •        Sound product knowledge across fabrics, garments, and category trends
