To develop, operationalize & successfully integrate a sustainable Foodservice strategy and manage all initiatives to optimize selling opportunities for sustainable profit growth. Provide the link between Foods, Stores & Outsourced partners to ensure the successful execution of Foodservices strategy.
Job description


  • Integrate and operationalise the Foodservices operating plan effectively
  • Influence and create a service culture across Foodservices' concepts
  • Provide guidance and support on store structures and operational processes
  • Ensure that outsource partners understand their role in supporting the WW brand
  • Achieve the stretch budgets and targets for the Foodservices' concepts
  • Deliver the Foodservices' Operating Plan
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with other BUs at the relevant level
  • Ensure brand integrity across all Food Service formats:
  • Identify knowledge or skill gaps in stores.
  • Follow up on Brand integrity audits
  • Manage the up-skilling process through additional training
  • Monitors outsource partner operations in the field and provide input and feedback to enhance performance.
  • Manage events / activities in line with agreed operating budgets
  • IT (Micros and Matra)
  • Update of new price changes and new items added, general maintenance required to the system
  • New Store Roll Out/Modernisation
  • Work with RED, Out Source Partner, Visual Teams in handing over a food service format that is ready to trade
  • Marketing
  • Integrate and enable the category strategy with Marketing
  • Corporate Stores
  • Audit, implement new changes for improved ways of working
  • Compile and complete relevant checklist data surrounding Operational Compliance and follow up on any outstanding areas of rectification
  • Upgrade and amend any changes in policy, new processes, policies, procedures and communicate to relevant parties in Head Office, selling teams, out-source business partner and stores
  • Ensure all maintenance and operational areas are repaired by relevant parties to ensure brand integrity is not compromised

Minimum requirements

  • B Comm or related business degree ie. Hospitality degree/diploma
  • 5 – 8 years Woolworths' retail experience
  • Ability to engage key stakeholders
  • Business Intelligence, process flows, cost effective
  • Engage and influence key stakeholders across the business
  • Understanding of Supply Chain and Cataloguing
  • Understanding of Procurement and Category Management
  • Knowledge of Technical processes and principles
  • Knowledge of Product Development processes
  • Knowledge of Consumer Psychology
  • Negotiating skills
  • Legislative Compliance
  • PC literate
  • Demonstrates passion and commitment for excellence, the customer, the Woolies brand and organisation, each other, South Africa and transformation and sustainability
